ULTRA HIGH PRESSURE RO
Welcome to the cutting edge of water treatment technology, where MDS process and membrane designs have ushered in the era of Ultra High-Pressure Reverse Osmosis (UHPRO) systems. New state-of-the-art spiral wound membranes are designed to continuously operate at 1800 psi (120 bar), pushing the boundaries of desalination and brine management.
Leveraging UHPRO technology enables industries to substantially decrease the need for extensive thermal desalination processes, offering a more sustainable and cost-efficient solution. UHPRO is gaining prominence in industrial effluent treatment processes, particularly in achieving Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) and Minimal Liquid Discharge (MLD) objectives.
Depending upon feed water quality, UHPRO membranes have demonstrated real time recovery of up to 95%, a groundbreaking advancement. This extraordinary capability results in a remarkable reduction in brine volume and unparalleled TDS handling compared to conventional membrane technologies. The reduction in brine volume achieved by UHPRO translates to more efficient use of feed water and significantly less brine, minimizing the environmental impact and addressing disposal challenges associated with brine.
Leveraging the High Bar 3-stage patent pending process design, coupled with energy recovery, optimizes power consumption (no power is lost by breaking the process into individual steps). The 3-stage sequential boosting design allows High Bar to design specific membranes for each stage and control the amount of recovery in each stage to optimize the membrane performance.
Standard modules are available in feed capacities from 20 to 300 m3. These modules are fully engineered and designed to be completely modular. The modules are pre-wired to significantly reduce site installation and commissioning costs. Particularly in remote areas where high value specialty chemical processes need to operate.
While the initial capital cost of UHPRO systems may be higher compared to traditional Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems, it remains significantly lower than that of thermal evaporators. Let the experts at High Bar show you how to strategically apply UHPRO in the design of the treatment system to significantly lower Capital and Operational Expenditures for downstream thermal processes.
