Brent Brodie was appointed Director of Sales and Marketing in September 2010, was promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 2012 and was promoted to Executive Vice President of Business Development in 2022. Mr. Brodie’s experience includes twelve years serving in a variety of positions with GE Water and Process Technologies, most recently as Capital Equipment Sales Manager for the Caribbean region. Mr Brodie has over 25 year’s experience in the membrane industry. Mr. Brodie received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and his Master of Business Administration (Marketing Emphasis) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Doug Vanderlinden has been designing and building UHP RO systems for over 15 years, assisting customers to process spent de-icing storm water and difficult mining waters. Doug and his team has over 15 years of experience designing fully automatic pumping, control and analysis systems, incorporating energy recovery and operating at pressures in excess of 1,500 psi in both RO and NF applications. Working in concert with MDS membrane innovations, the team has solved difficult process issues world wide.

Frederick McTaggart has been a director of the company since 1998, President since October 2000 and Chief Executive Officer since January 1, 2004. On January 1, 2004, Mr. McTaggart resigned as Chief Financial Officer, a position he held since February 2001. From April 1994 to October 2000, Mr. McTaggart was the Managing Director of the Water Authority-Cayman, the government-owned water utility serving certain areas of the Cayman Islands. He received his BS in Building Construction from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1985.

Wilmer F. Pergande is Chairman of the Board of Consolidated Water Co. Ltd. He has over 55 years of management, sales, manufacturing and engineering experience in the desalination industry. He retired in 2006 as the Global Leader for Desalination and Process Equipment for GE Infrastructure, Water and Process Technologies, which position he held since 2002. Mr. Pergande previously held the position of Vice President of Special Projects of Osmonics Inc. and Chief Executive Officer of a desalination subsidiary of Osmonics Inc., a publicly traded water treatment and purification company, until its acquisition by General Electric Co. Before joining Osmonics, Mr. Pergande was the President of Mechanical Equipment Company Inc. (MECO) for 14 years and held engineering, sales and executive managerial positions with AquaChem Inc., both companies being manufacturers of seawater desalination equipment. He has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University and Post Graduate Studies in Metallurgy and Heat Transfer from the University of Wisconsin. Mr. Pergande served three terms as a Director of the International Desalination Association, in which he held the positions of Treasurer and Secretary. Mr. Pergande was selected to serve as a member of our Board of Directors because of his management and engineering experience in the desalinization industry, and for his management, engineering, sales and marketing skills.

David W. Sasnett became our Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in June 2006 and also served on our Board of Directors from December 2004 through May 2015. From March 2014 through April 2015, Mr. Sasnett served as a member of the Board of Directors of DubLi Inc. In 2005 and 2006/ Mr. Sasnett was the Chief Financial Officer of VoIP Inc., a publicly traded provider of communication services utilizing voice over Internet protocol technology. During 2004, he was the Vice President of Finance and Controller for MasTec Inc., a specialty contractor and infrastructure provider traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Sasnett was the Chief Financial Officer of Catalina Lighting Inc., a publicly traded manufacturer and distributor of residential lighting and other consumer products from 1996 to 2002. Mr. Sasnett’s experience also encompasses more than 12 years with the auditing and consulting firm of Deloitte & Touche LLP. Mr. Sasnett is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida.

Larry Lien is a visionary entrepreneur and industry leader, serving as the Owner and Managing Director of Membrane Development Specialists Corporation since 2006. With a focus on membrane technology applications and industrial process developments, Larry has propelled the company to the forefront of innovation in diverse sectors, particularly in waste waters, mining, and oil & gas industries. Under Larry's leadership, Membrane Development Specialists Corporation has become a trailblazer in manufacturing specialty spiral wound membranes for extreme conditions, showcasing capabilities in handling pH levels ranging from 0 to 14, temperatures up to 200°C, and pressures exceeding 3000 psi. Notably, from 2018 to the present, Larry patented a groundbreaking membrane-based process and material to recover Lithium, Cobalt, and Nickel from recycled batteries. Larry's achievements also include spearheading Lithium mining projects and Lithium battery recycling initiatives, such as the 2022-2023 projects and the sub-licensing of Lithium battery recycling technologies to a group in China. His forward-thinking approach extends to CO2 sequestration membrane systems, caustic recovery membrane processes, and the recovery of various substances from diverse industrial processes.
